Fit Doggie and Me — “People and their dogs…working out together!”. In Praise of PetsMedford, MA, serves the area, offering in-home training in two formats: for an hour-long lesson with the owner present, or for “day training”, which consists of multiple half-hour visits a week and culminates in a weekly half-hour session with the owner. Owner Miranda Courant-Morgan says “My approach is all positive-reinforcement based and relies solely on the principles of operant behavior (i.e. it’s all based on actual scientific evidence that these techniques work, rather than a “feeling”). Most of what I do is clicker training, but a lot can also be accomplished with other reinforcers. The Ride & Groom, Mobile Dog Spa, Somerville, MA, is a full service, state of the

pup. The grooming experience consists of one on one attention for the pet

Anchorhold Films, film-maker Chad Montrie collaborated with A-DOG on a very successful event (fall, 2012), a screening of his film “Tough Love: A Meditation on Dominance and Dogs”, followed by an expert panel discussion on dog behavior and training.  Chad also donated a DVD of his film to us to give to the Robbins Library.

Arlington Community Media, Inc. (ACMI) partnered with A-DOG to produce our very successful FidoFEST dog video festival at Spy Pond field in August, 2017. We hope this will become an annual event! Also, A-DOG is a nonprofit member of ACMI and our volunteers receive training in video production and editing.

Arlington Swifty Printing in Arlington Heights offers a generous discount to A-DOG for all our printing needs.

ArtLounge in Arlington Heights sponsored our Paint Your Pet night (February, 2016) as a fundraiser for A-DOG! We received hundreds of dollars in cash donation as well as a generous gift card for our drawing from ArtLounge as a result of this successful event!

Lisa Berasi, graphic designer, Arlington, MA. Lisa designed our A-DOG logo and has conducted other professional projects for us, such as a recent ad to support the Arlington High School Gilbert and Sullivan Club.

Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners (formerly VESCONE) veterinary technician and board certified veterinary emergency responder Amy Breton, CVT, VTS (ECC) donated her presentation of a very informative A-DOG sponsored workshop on Pet First Aid and CPR Basics.  Blue Pearl sponsors Frankie’s Friends, a charitable pet foundation.

Blue Sky Dogs, owner Jen Burns provides dog walking and pet care.  Jen regularly donates gift certificates for our drawings and is also a generous supporter of A-DOG’s Friends of Thorndike OLRA (Dog Park) fund. As an A-DOG board member, she has organized several very successful events, most recently FIDO Fest 2017, Arlington’s first dog video festival!

“No more waiting for their next walk” Crate Escape!, with “9500 sq feet of day-care space so your dog can frolic leash-free,” has provided gift certificates for our drawings.

Emily Mayne, an A-DOG member and very talented Arlington jewelry artist, sold her jewelry at our Paint Your Fundraiser event and insisted on donating all proceeds to A-DOG! Please contact us to reach Emily for more information about her jewelry sales at craft shows and through house parties.

FlowDog was a longtime friend of A-DOG, offering discounts to our full members. Now that FlowDog has been sold to Angell MSPCA (and will form the foundation of Angell’s new rehabilitation center in Waltham), this discount is no longer valid. However, if your pet needs physical therapy, water therapy or other rehabilitation services, FlowDog’s work will continue at Angell!

Lakota Bakery, now Cookie Time “…if you have a passion for cookies”, Arlington Heights (owner Barbara Weniger) regularly donates gift certificates for our drawings.

Lucy’s Real Meat Treats, Arlington, MA donates its homemade meat treats to A-DOG events.
